Mid Week survival tip: A daily dose of Gratitude

When you are feeling like the world is against you and you can't see your way out of the fog of sadness, frustration and grief, how can the practice of gratitude help you through? Well, even if you don't have the much wanted baby you desire right now - it doesn't mean you will never be a parent and chances are you have some pretty awesome things in your life right now that you can enjoy.  Counting our blessings has been shown by research to improve mood, make you more satisfied with your life, improve the quality of your sleep and even make you more optimistic. Keeping a gratitude journal, or setting an alarm on your phone to reflect on what went well in your day helps keep things in perspective and also allows your body to experience helpful hormones like oxytocin which calm the mind and body.  So as simple as it sounds try practicing gratitude daily and see what effects it has on you.
